Whether you are one of our gardeners looking to get in some volunteer hours, an individual, or part of an organization, we often have projects that we need help with!
If you are not one of our gardeners, please reach out to the garden manager at [email protected] to let them know you are interested in volunteering, sign waivers, and to make any necessary arrangements.
Thank you for your help! The community garden could not survive without the help of our wonderful community.

Weeding
We've almost always got some weeding to do!
- The path that leads from the gate to the pergola needs upkeep to be kept free of grass and weeds.
- Anything you see growing over six inches, that is not in a herb bed, 50/50 plot, pollinator bed, or garden plot, can be pulled, whether it is in a pathway next to your garden bed or anyone else's.
Fence Line
We've got a number of shrubs, vines, and grasses growing through the fence. Carefully cut shrubs at their base, and any branches that got through, so as not to break the fence further. Let the garden manager know where holes are spotted, so they can be patched up.
Be careful on the south and east sides of the fence, as there has been an occasional poison ivy spotted.

Compost
Our compost bins are essential for providing biology and nutrients for our pantry plot, pollinator beds, and more.
Microbes need the nitrogen, carbon, oxygen, and water to do their job of breaking down our compost. We usually have plenty of carbon for them, but we are severely lacking the oxygen and water.
We'd urgently need help routinely turning the compost piles and pouring water on them. They need to be turned every three days and we need several members to divide up this chore . If you can't commit to a routine, any chance you get to give a pile an occasional turn would help!
